Team Crease Spring High School Club Team dominates the NGLL playoffs. The spring club team consisting of 10 new lacrosse players beats Union Grove A for the B Division Title.

Coach Higgins named as Head Coach of TEAM USA USAAI Team
For Immediate Release
Oglethorpe University Head Lacrosse Coach Tom Higgins has been selected to coach a team in the
Down Under Cup in Australia from May 29 through June 10, 2012.
Players from all over the country are recommended for the team based on two key elements: (1) their
athletic ability and (2) their ability to represent their country, school and hometown in a positive manner.
“Tom’s commitment to growing the sport of lacrosse at the youth level across the state of Georgia
serves as an example of the type of athletic ambassador USA Athletes International seeks to bring into
international competition. He will bring the term ambassador to life on this trip, showing the
tournament participants his love for the sport,” stated Rick Mathieu, Lacrosse Program Coordinator at
USA Athletes International.
“Tom is taking the opportunity to represent Oglethorpe as an ambassador for the sport of lacrosse and
the USA. From the day he heard about this opportunity, he has professed his excitement about it, and
we are all proud to have him as a part of our program.”
In addition to competing, the team will also take plenty of time to tour Australia, including Melbourne
and the surrounding area, as well as the Gold Coast.
USA Athletes International is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that seeks to provide educational
opportunities that are facilitated through athletic competition.
With the exception of the U.S. Olympic program, there are few opportunities for athletes to experience
the competition, history, and culture of other countries on an international level.
